Drainage
My project is a representation of a drainage pipe, made
out of a Styrofoam cup. It is modeled after a pipe that I saw at the beach that
had a pool of trash and waste beneath it. There was lots of plastic pieces and cigarette
butts around the beach, which is a danger to the birds who try to eat them. The
piece of tar must have washed up onto the beach at some point, as it was
furthest out to the water. The caution sign on top of the drain is similar to
those seen by street drains, as those are the ones where a huge amount of
pollution goes down. This project is meant to show how much trash goes directly
from our city streets to the oceans, and how damaging it is.
