Bottle Cap Bag

For this art project I used bottle caps. I collected all the bottle caps I had and made a purse with them. The bottle caps gave the purse a special design. Many people don't know that things that you can recycle can make beautiful things. Now when I use this purse everyone can see how nice it looks and its made of bottle caps I hope when people see the bag it will inspire them to try to make amazing things with things you can recycle.

Sea of Trash by Steven Mittwer

Sea of Trash by Steven Mittwer,

Whether trash is thrown on the street or the beach, trash end up traveling to shores and end up going inside the ocean causing animals that live near or in the ocean to consume them. The trash they consume does not digest properly causing them to become ill and eventually die. They may also get trapped and tangled up in the trash which is also very hazardous. By trashing beaches you are upsetting mother nature.

P.S. These are not the exact words from my actual essay just the main point of it.

This is my art project for Lollie Ragana's english 101 class.

Urbanized Flowers

Peace for Our Wildlife

Trash is disturbing the peace of the environment. Animals are dying because of the trash that is left behind by our society. It is a nuisance to their society. If we take the time, to throw the trash away properly, imagine what the world might look like. Think about it! Give Peace a Chance!

Reflection on the World
I created my art project based on a theory I formed about global warming. Global warming will become such a big issue that it will eventually destroy the earth. One of the events that will begin when global warming effects our live styles is the trees will begin to disappear. There are many reasons to this, such as the trees being cut down for resources and random wildfires because of the temperature. Naturally, birds make their homes in trees, so if the trees are disappearing, then so will there habitats. These birds will resort to grabbing paper to make their nests. Through time, the smoke in the air, due to the greenhouse gases, will form a hallucinogen and create a disease that will cause the birds to hallucinate. Because of their disease, these birds will begin to mistake shiny objects for eggs, thus the cans in the nest. My final thought on my art project is that global warming will worsen. We can only do so much to slow the progression of global warming, but not really stop it. If our society is not aware of the problems with animal habitats, then our habitats will surely be in danger.

Paperaceous Period

The materials that I decided to use was tape, cardboard boxes, a plastic cup, and paper. With a pencil I drew dinosaurs on the cardboard boxes and then cutting them out. I did the same thing with all the trees. With the paper cup I decided to use that as a volcano, I decided to cut the bottom part off and flip it around to make the hole of the volcano. I squished up some paper and I decided to use that as to cover the cup up and make it look more like a volcano and I shredded some paper to create the rest of the environment.

Plastic Straw Holder

storage container

Straws manly have one use in the broad world. Many only use the straw once for each drink they have and throw it away after it was used. However, I was able to use the straws to make a holder. I have noticed that in the stores, you cant just buy one straw, even if you only need one for that day, they tend to come in a large plastic bag with at least a hundred in the bag. Now if you only need one straw, than what do many people do with the rest? Assuming many just throw the rest away because the plastic bag rips or some just store them away and not use them anymore. I've decided to use the extra straws and make them into a straw holder. It didn't take much time to create and it was a great mind teaser to build it correctly and colorful. I tried to put my writing utensils in the holder but they're were too heavy to hold with the plastic straws. So I just kept it as a straw holder made out of plastic straws to hold the straws that can give your kitchen a little color.

Mr. Roboto

We act as robots, following orders instead of making changes for yourselves and for the world. We are destroying nature and harming the animals by throwing trash everywhere. It's like we have no emotion over what we're doing. People don't understand the big picture of what any trash does to us. It can create illness, bad odors and it's a big mess. People should really start reusing, reducing and recycling trash like cardboard and soda cans.

Choose Healthy

Water bottles are being sold everywhere, in schools, hospitals and theme parks. The fact that most

people know about water bottles is that it contains chemicals. Even though this fact is dangerous for

health, people find water bottles easy to carry and to drink and also to buy. They even ignore the fact

that its dangerous and they keep on buying them although it is also easy to get a self bottle that made

out of natural substances and drink out of it for even way longer than a water bottle. a glass of water

is also a better solution and we all have drinking glasses that we use to drink juice, milk and other

kinds of drinks.

Resourceful

Soda tabs are made from the exact same aluminum ore as the rest of the can, although some people say that they have higher aluminum content. Soda tabs are the most valuable part of the can and is the purest aluminum. Americans throw out enough aluminum every three months to rebuild the country`s entire commercial air fleet.  Every aluminum can that is laid to rest in a land fill will take about 500 years to completely degrade. My brother recycles soda cans and when being assigned this assignment I began to snap off the soda tabs and thought about what I can make with them. I thought about making a bracelet; showing that something made out of aluminum, something from a can, can turn into jewelry.

Earths Pollution.

The cigarette buds represent how smoking is allowed pretty much everywhere. I decided to place all the buds I can find on the shoes as a representative to show how you basically walk with them. How the world is being polluted but yet us the people are just deciding to go through the pollution without looking back. These buds are used up and instead of being placed in minimum of a trash can but not even that they end up in the street. I don't fully understand how something this small can cause such a horrible appearance. Deep in the future this will completely make sense because we will be walking on the worlds trash. The more that happens the more we will adapt to it and just embrace the trash and wear it in our everyday lives. These sneakers with buds are just the beginning of a complete clothing revolution unless we provide a stop to all the pollution. It can be as easy as actually desposing your waste in the trash. Every little piece of help can make a difference and help stop earths pollution.

Hi my name  is Osmar Herrera i am in my first year of  college at Cal State La. For my art project i decide to make a house out of trash because we always leave trash around our house and we forget to pick it up. If you keep leave trash at your house it well look like this that's why we should stop throwing trash ever were. If you keep throw trash away you should stop and think about how would we help environment. One thing you could help the environment is by stop throwing a lot of trash. some of the things that we throw away it could be recycle  like water bottles, cans, plastic, paper and aluminium. some of the trash that made from the house  was a cardboard box, leaves, water bottle, plastic bag and the inside of the house i put a lot of thrash. some of the trash that i use to built the house first i start of use a water bottle for the shape of the house. For the windows i use a plastic wrap and for the roofing i use a plastic wrap and some leaves. For the door i use a styrofoam plate and i use a bottle cap for the door nobes. I puts some leaves to represent the grass and for the dirt i use a plastic bag.

The project I made it’s a flowerpot. I really love flowers, so I decided to make that. Firstly I need prepare a small tin can. We did not to buy that, when we finished canned food, do not throw the trash. It is very useful. Then we need stone plastic clay and rolling stone plastic clay into flake, according to the height of the pot and perimeter cut rectangularity. Find which I like stamp printed pattern. Then cover the body with clay. Use the fresh selaginella leaves cut into small pieces. Touch water stick leaves in the pot. With the clay into a mud pat on tank. After drying, such as clay which presents the natural flavor.

A Look Into The Future.

One Step
The art project I did came from a picture I saw in English where a bird was opened and in it was a bunch of trash. It made me think of the movie happy feet where one of the penguins had a six pack soda ring around its neck. These images made me remember that our trash doesn't just stop at the beach but can reach to other parts of the world no matter how far. Upon further research it is said that a lot of our trash bags and plastic bottles travel down to the Antarctic where penguins eat them thinking it is food and eventually die from it because their bodies can't digest the trash. I used s soda bottle that I found along with some other trash that I found walking around the dorms I live in and created a visual of what these birds look like on the inside. I hope that every one can make that one simple step of throwing away their trash in the specified containers.

The Knotted Penguin
The project I made is an example of the dangerous stuff than can happen to animals out there because of our trash leading into the ocean. I got this idea from the movie "Happy Feet" it's a great way of showing how trash like this can be found everywhere in the ocean. I made this penguin with a six-pack plastic around his neck. The body is made of a plastic bottle. The arms are made of aluminum and the head is made of a back ball. There are many animals around the world who are been hurt by our pollution.

Trash Transformed Into a Luxury Car
The art project that I created is a representation of all the poor kids who dream to enjoy a toy and because they don’t have enough money to buy it, so I decided to create a car; I just with simple materials. For example: a bottle of milk representing the body of the car, mayonnaise jars caps as tires, eggshell as the face, juice cap as the hat, shoestring as the hands and market to write the faces and numbers. The purpose what I chose to create a car is because toys are very important and bring a lot of happiness to the children. The connection between the cars, and it is very special and valuable because I love cars. Also, when I was a kid I used to collect cars; I could play hours and I never got bored. As a result, if you want to have a good time playing with toys, you don’t need to buy a new one, just go to trash and search, and you will find the recyclable objects then just use your imagination and create a toy of your dreams.

Classy but Trashy !

This project is a  representation of me and the world that I live in. In my life, on a weekly basis I love to take trips to the mall, enjoying going through all these different stores. The bags that I receive my purchases in, I throw away without any thought or knowledge of how sufficient it would be to save them and reuse them. I just love shopping and the thought of getting new clothes. If I applied my love for shopping to my love for recycling it would make a major change in my everyday life. With my homework assignment in mind. I collected these bags from my trash from last weekend along with the rest of the trash that's in the trash can. What I created here is classy but trashy art. The trash I chose was mainly recyclables, papers and plastics. I know that plastic is bad for the environment and it would be better if we reused it more often than throwing it away or even recycling it. Recycling half of America's waste would save about  105 million tons, that really stood out to me after doing this project. I noticed that we as the people, are not taking this matter serious enough. We all should be doing our part in recycling, reducing and reusing "trash".

Thrash Dog

Thrash Dog
My project started from me just gathering random thrash near my sidewalk and throwing it all on top of a poster. From this point I had no idea what I was going to do so I went online to see if I can get some inspiration from other people’s work. Inspiration was found as I realize I could do so much more than what I initially thought I was going to do. At this point I started to want to come up with ways I can combine my trash to form a sculpture . I really like dogs so it just came naturally to me to want to build a dog from my thrash.  After many mix and matches I finally finished my project and proudly present you my thrash dog thing, and yes I cheated the whole mess of a project is held together by the powers of a glue gun. The two most important things I learned from this project was the power of one’s creativity and how hot a glue gun can get.
