Perspective of a Duck and Fish

Hello everyone! My name is Evelyn Lopez and I chose to do my "art project" on the perspective of a duck and a fish. The main reason is because I wanted to show not only my classmates, but everyone else that no matter where we look, we will always find some trash laying around. Whether its on land or in water, you will always find some kind of plastic, for example. Plastic is the biggest source of pollution we find that is not only affecting us, but is also affecting the marine life. I displayed some plastic next to the duck and fish because believe it or not, that is the main reason why most of our marine life is in danger.

For the perspective of the duck, I chose to cover the whole "surface" with plastic because it's one source of pollution that is endangering us all, on land. Not only does it put our birds and other mammals in danger, but it puts us people in danger the most, since we are the ones that are using plastic; making things that aren't biodegradable. See, if we to learn how to make things biodegradable, we wouldn't be having a high risk of serious pollution.

Not only are we suffering this current pollution, but our marine life, as well, is suffering this. Anything that is not cleaned up or being thrown away proper later ends up in our oceans and beaches, killing our precious marine life. I chose to represent plastic as a candy wrapper because technically it's still plastic and something as simple and as small as this can lead to a sea animal's extinction.

For my final representation, I chose to break the plastic of the package just to show that plastic or any other kind of trash can go through any openings easily, whether its through a storm drain or running water on the streets, it still manages to reach our oceans and beaches. It's the little things that we do that cause most of the pollution in this world. In order to stop the pollution, we must react to the negativity and think about how we are hurting our environment and how we can help it become a better and safer place.
